I think we’re gonna’ need a bigger boat

Who would forget the movie “Jaws”, which has instilled fear of the sea in many people from that generation. The effect of the movie on the true apex predator of the seas, the shark, has been so profound that all treated them as villains and man-eaters. Even the producers and most of those involved in the movie’s production and making have reversed and felt guilty of the impact the movie had on the general population. They have released many feature films and even taken part in conservation efforts to reverse the negative impact the movies have had on the natural ecology of the sea. The size and ferociousness were truly boated to more than life proportions that no real shark exists. The Great white is now almost an endangered species and requires the respect of all mankind as all of God’s creatures deserve.

One of the very few stories about the life of Wall Street traders where budding young hot-shot trader to be Charlie Sheen seeks to make a big name for himself and millionaires whom they worked for. The deceit and the amount of control they had over the lives of all Americans and in fact the people of this earth. Spoken by the power broker character Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas), who earns his living by manipulating stocks in the interest of his company with the story was roughly pattered after the junk stocks and bonds trading spree of the 80′s which made much news and had many heads roll along with it. As it was being filmed, the working title was GREED and not Wall Street.

The quote has become synonymous with anything that has to have somebody knowing and somebody not knowing. The movie Sherlock Holmes has a character written and created by Sir Conan Doyle as the ultimate crime-solver with a critical mind that finds every clue. It is one of those movies and characters that is known throughout the world as the symbol of crime fighting. It has even been the reason for some true detectives and policemen to become who they are along with Dirty Harry played by Clint Eastwood. These crime fighting characters have inspired many a crime fighters then till now and will continue to be part of popular culture for many years to come.
Comedy, everybody loves comedy

Yes, even the laugh factories have their share of famous and interesting quotes like “Yeah Baby” and “Oh Behave!”, from Austin Powers. Forrest Gump produced ” Mama always said life is like a box of chocolates…”, in the film with the same name as the character played by Tom Hanks became a sort of expression for an innocent look at life from the view of a special person. A stint of comedy in the action thriller film Airplane has the quick-witted stewardess going on the intercom saying, ‘There’s no reason to be alarmed, and we hope you enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone here who knows how to fly a plane????”. Ace Ventura left us with, “If I’m not back in five minutes..Wait a little bit longer!!!”. Funny and hilarious they may be they do serve a purpose, to break the ice in an already hilarious film making it even more hilarious sending you crunching your stomach as it aches from laughing.
A Few Good Men
July 9th, 2009
The movie gave birth to the quote, “You can’t handle the truth!!!”, which was spoken by Col. Nathan Jessep, the commanding officer of Guantanamo Bay Naval Base and a nominee to become the chief of Naval Operations in the Pentagon, who was put to the stand in an investigation into the death of one of the Marines under his command. The said marine was given a “Code Red” which was a made up term for extrajudicial punishment which ended in his death resulting in the trial that had his fellow marines and superior officers under investigation for the said death. The main characters of the film were two lawyers, one of whom was the son of a decorated Navy lawyer holding the position of Attorney General and Navy Judge Advocate. The quote comes from a last ditch effort from the two main characters into getting the commanding officer to admit his role (which was authorizing the Code Red on the Marine who died) in the said killing ending up angering him and saying those famous words.
Note: All of the events in the film were fictional and there are no such terms and disciplinary actions within the said branch of military service.
Sixth Sense (1999)
June 29th, 2009
The line, “I see dead people”, was spoken by a gifted young boy who sees dead people whom Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) a child psychologist is bent on saving from a killer whom the boy is a witness to. The line was spoken by the boy when he tells Malcolm of his problem and he says he’s a freak. The movie was intended by Shaylaman to be a cross of the Exorcist and Ordinary People, both stories of the extra-ordinary events of ghosts and other super-natural beings. Malcolm continues to help the boy through his illness as he fails to realize that he too is already dead and is same as the other ghosts the boy sees. In the end, he remembers the whole story of him being shot and killed by the man whom he is protecting the boy from.
Disney vs. Pixar on Wall-E

The outline for Wall-E looks somewhat like this: “Disney and Pixar join forces for this computer-animated tale about a wide-eyed robot that travels to the deepest reaches of outer space in search of a newfound friend.” The year is 2700, and planet Earth has long been uninhabitable. For hundreds of years, WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) has been taking out the trash, and collecting precious knick-knacks in order to stave off the monotony of his dreary routine. Little does WALL-E realize that he has recently stumbled onto a secret that could save planet Earth, and once again make the ravaged planet safe for all humanity. When highly advanced search robot EVE makes friends with WALL-E and realizes the value of his remarkable discovery, she excitedly races back to let the humans know that there’s hope for their home planet after all. But after centuries alone in the world, WALL-E can’t stand the thought of losing the only friend he’s ever known, and eagerly follows her into the deepest reaches of space on the adventure of a lifetime. Along the way, the friendly trash-collecting robot who has always known what he was made for gradually begins to understand what he was meant for.
This is the most excellent film of 2008 so far, and if Wall-E doesn’t get listed for Best Picture (not just the cheap cop-out Best Animated Picture) then I’m going to throw a total fit. This is a beautiful, smart, touching, hilarious and damn cute movie that I’m going to see at least 4 more times in the theatre. It is the best film Pixar has ever made in my opinion… and the most complete one too. I appreciated this movie.
Air Force One (1997)
May 1st, 2008
“Get off my Plane!”, spoken by the American President (Played by Harrison Ford) as he fights for control of Air Force One, the premier mode of transport of the true President of the United States. Being a former Marine, he fights a cat and mouse battle between terrorists who have hijacked the plane posing as a film crew and in cahoots with a Secret Service Agent turned traitor. The line comes as he throws the errant agent out of the plane’s door as it begins to plunge into the sea due to damage. A rescue mission is put in motion where the crew and the rest of the first family are to be winched across a steel cable attached to the door of the aircraft by special forces who were sent to rescue the President in a last ditch effort.
