Based on the fast life of Navy Pilots who fly some of the most sophisticated aircraft in the world, whizzing around in the skies at more than twice the speed of sound, the quote “I feel the need for Speed”, is at home in these skies. Though the film was a box office hit, there was little similarities between the action sequences and true life Top Guns in Fightertown USA at Miramar Air Station in San Diego California where the best of the best pilots from all branches who are considered to be in the top 1% of all pilots. The stunts the lead character did were considered to be grounds for a court martial, jail time and dismissal from the Navy and were purely for show.
